Thank you for visiting East Texas Rescue Mission of Tyler
East Texas Rescue Mission of Tyler is a non-profit organization located at 1023 N. Glenwood Boulevard in Tyler. We endeavor to reach out to help the homeless and needy in Tyler and Smith County by providing food, shelter, clothing, and nightly chapel services.
We have estimated that there may be as many as 200 homeless men in our surrounding communities that are in need of East Texas Rescue Mission services. Many are sleeping in abandoned cars, buildings, and makeshift lean-tos for nightly shelter. Many are in need of a hot meal, a shower, a clean bed, and someone with whom to talk.
During their stay at East Texas Rescue Mission of Tyler, everyone receives a nutritious meal, safe shelter, clean clothing, and the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. We also offer a one-year residential discipleship/recovery program called “The Bridge”, which allows men to study the Word of God and allow Him to change their lives.
Over 300 volunteers serve in this ministry each month and we value their help. Many comment on how much it means not only to our clients, but to them as well to share their time and talents. Visit our VOLUNTEER page on this website to see the opportunities that are available to you.
Together, we as a community can make a difference. Please pray for YOUR East Texas Rescue Mission. Consider supporting it with your financial gifts. AND come down to volunteer for a couple hours or on a weekly basis. You will receive a blessing, as well as give a blessing to the hurting and homeless. Lord bless you.
